If your pipe under your washbasin was leaking, what would you do?

• Ask for help from people you can reach out to
• Try to fix it yourself
Here the least expensive could be the third option but it takes skill to do a plumbing job correctly. One mistake, and the whole house will be filled with water. Then you have to do some disaster management.
When you are reading some stuff, please understand that knowledge is not equal or equivalent to understanding, especially understanding the real world problems and its fixes. You could never become an expert plumber just by reading books and getting all the possible knowledge.
So, be curious and look under the wash basin once a while. Check the leak and if the leak can be fixed with the help of a sealant or a simple tightening of a nut then try it out before calling the obvious help.
What happens in the long run is, you will start to question systems. You will ask yourself and others as why something works as it does or why not the way you imagined. Sometimes you have to be brave and look under the hood to see if there are some leaks or connections missing.
Only by looking beneath one layer or virtualization, which opens up the system from a black box to a system which is made of components, you would start thinking differently.
Don't stop thinking at the first sign of problem. Investigate the problem source beneath the initial layer. If you cannot fix it only then call for help. It also helps if you can observe the expert at work.
